{ an introduction }

Hi, I'm Chérie.

By profession, I am a public health social scientist. However, by nature, I've always been drawn to stories.

The stories people carry. The ones they tell. The ones they don't. The stories tucked inside old books, nature walks, photographs, paintings, conversations, and ordinary moments that stay with us.

For years, I searched for belonging in achievement, certainty, and the next thing to accomplish. What I've found instead is that some of life's richest transformations happen intentionally —in the presence of God, in community, through creativity, and noticing the nuances of life.

This corner of the internet is a reflection of that journey.

Here you'll find poetry, books I've read, essays, works of art, and short observations gathered along the way. Some are explicitly shaped by my faith. Others simply begin with curiosity, beauty, or the questions that make us human.

Together, they form a quarterly literary journal—a gathering place for stories, art, and conversation. For those who believe imagination is not an escape from reality, but a way of paying closer attention to it.

While I write often, I don't think of authorship as belonging only to writers.

People author many things.

They author gardens and paintings. Friendships and communities. Meals shared around a table. Businesses built with care. Lives shaped by intention and grace.

In that sense, this site is a collection of things I've authored and things that have, in many ways, authored me.

My hope is that this space where creativity, storytelling, and faith meet. A place that invites stillness in a world that often rewards hurry.

My hope is that someday this extends beyond the digital world into a physical gathering place filled with books, flowers, conversation, and community.

Until then, I'm glad you found your way here. <3
